Nota d'usoIl sostantivo “infanzia” può essere tradotto con infancy o con childhood, a seconda dell'età a cui si fa riferimento. Il termine infancy, infatti, si riferisce alla primissima infanzia, approssimativamente ai primi due anni di vita di un bambino, mentre childhood indica un'età compresa tra i 2 anni e l'adolescenza, di cui chi parla può avere memoria: I had a happy childhood, ho avuto un'infanzia felice (non I had a happy infancy). Il termine infancy viene anche usato in senso figurato per indicare l'inizio di qualcosa: The project is in its infancy, il progetto è agli inizi. -
